MUSHIN OPEN BOAT OFFSHORE TUNA - Wed 9/30 130 AM TO 8 PM - Now that the big Nor’easter is clearing out it’s time to get back to catching BIG TUNA in the Offshore waters. We had great action before the blow, and we anticipate picking up right where we left off. So we are putting together an Open Boat trip for Wednesday 9/30 and the weather looks great! Cost is $950 per person plus tip. We have and supply all the equipment but feel free to bring your own. Call or text Capt. Alan at 609-731-3742 to reserve.

Alan spent this windy evening at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge enjoying a spectacular show!Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), ArtW, and internationally recognized multimedia artist Anita Glesta brought the natural wonders of the Hudson Canyon to the Brooklyn Bridge with the premiere of AQUA COSMOS: The Hudson Canyon, a monumental public artwork that will transform the iconic landmark into a canvas about the ocean and the 100-year legacy of art, science and conservation. A huge turnout even in the wind!

The SHIMANO LEDGE RUNNER 200 hard body adjustable deep diving plug has been an ace-in-the-hole for us all tuna season! We have been catching Bigeye, Yellowfin, and Wahoo on these plugs on every trip! They track amazingly straight and perform flawlessly right out of the box. The New Moon and Mai Tai have been our two favorite colors. We rig them with an 8’ shot of 150 # fluorocarbon to an offshore loop. We run them on bent butt rods with Shimano Tiagra 80W packed with all 130 # braid. The thinness of braid helps the plugs run deeper than on monofilament main line.

9/17 - Capt. George and Mate Jon had Jim J and guests offshore today to get ahead of the winds for tomorrow. They found some great quality with a couple of jumbo Bigeyes and YFT well over 100 pounds. Beastly fish but the anglers did great on them!!

MUSHIN INSHORE SPEEDSTERS/OPEN BOAT 9/21 - With the strong response and interest, our next Open Boat/Reservation only Inshore Speedsters trip (Bonita/false albacore/spanish mackerel/bluefin tuna) trip is Monday, 9/21 from 5 am to 3 pm from Point Pleasant. Cost is $400 per person for boat plus tip if there are 6 anglers. We have and supply all the fishing equipment, jigs, rigs, bait, ice, although you’re certainly welcome to bring your own equipment also. Call/text Capt. Alan at 609-731-3742 to reserve.

9/5 Capt. George and Mate Jon had Joel E and friends out for a fun and productive day for speedsters! Bonita, Albies, and BlueFIN were at the top of the list, but added some other species in for the day too. They kept only what they planned on cooking. This great Fall fishery is just getting started! 9/4 - Inshore Exotics - we had Tom C and friends out for the Inshore Exotics and the variety didn’t disappoint! The ratio wasn’t always what we wanted - more blues than hardtails - but a good mixture of Albies, Bonita, Blues, and added Fluke, Sea Bass, Porgies, and…Starfish! And plenty of laughs and ball busting! Guys had plenty and wanted to be back by lunch!

Bonita, Spanish Mack’s, False Albies, school Bluefin, Mahi are just some of the species on the menu! $2100 for full boat charter or $350 per person if open boat with 6 anglers.
