Offset boring head routine on CNC mill.

Doing some offset boring head work on my Haas CNC VF2. Multiple parts so I did a little program. Program feeds the boring head into the part. Stops revs at the bottom, the spindle orients (tool is clocked to the Orient position), side shift in the X axis, then rapid out of part.

Needed a 3/4 inch ball Endmill today. The job doesn't require a tight tolerance at all. So about 4 years ago I rigged up this tool post grinding setup just for this purpose. Turned out pretty good. A lot better and quicker than doing it by hand. And my lathe is CNC so that helps with getting the right profile. Just have to grind my end reliefs and secondary reliefs and I'll be good to go!

Tips, tricks, and some rules-of-thumb for TIG welding that I learned from Kurt Webb (co-designer and researcher of the Miller Dynasty), who visited my company this last week, will be posted either this week or beginning of next.

The TIG machine is a Miller. It's pretty sweet. I'm not as good as my guy(he's excellent and certified) that does most of our TIG welding but I practice almost every day for at least an hour.

We're finally getting our own TIG welding machine instead of borrowing or jobbing out that type of welding. We'll be able to do steel, stainless, and aluminum welding soon.
