Our connectors follow the most recent SAE-Standards, from 7-pin connectors according to SAE J560 for heavy duty trucks and trailers to 2-pin connectors according to SAE J3082 for battery charging and liftgate operation to medium duty connectors following SAE J2863 and J1239.

💡Learn more about ABS/EBS trailer connectors according to ISO 7638-1 - the connectors of choice for the control of ABS/EBS systems in commercial vehicles💡

The ABS/EBS (Electronic Braking System) connectors for truck and trailer are used on nearly every commercial vehicle type with ABS/EBS System. They include various safety features: If a plug is incorrectly plugged in, it is automatically ejected by an ejector pin. Furthermore, the socket and plug housing of the 12V and the 24V system show different codings. This feature effectively avoids an accidental connection between components of the standard ISO 7638-1 and ISO 7638-2 thus protecting the electrical system from possible damage.

Pins 6 and 7 of the 7-pin standard are used for CAN-Bus data lines according to ISO 11992. As a CAN-Bus connection is not necessary for the functionality of the ABS system, there is also a 5-pin variant of this connector without pins 6 and 7.

ERICH JAEGER combo socket combines the standards SAE J1239 and J2863. The socket enables vehicle operators to couple any kind of trailer to their SUV, car or pickup truck without the use of an adapter.

The trailer socket by ERICH JAEGER is water and corrosion resistant due to a number of features including the use of high quality double-plated contacts, optimized cover and interior seals and dedicated drainage holes according to the mounting position of the socket.

A patented closing system using push rods effectively prevents the covers of the two connector systems to be opened simultaneously. The whole assembly fits the car manufacturers’ original mounting brackets and - as usual for ERICH JAEGER products - comes in OEM quality.

🎉Celebration!! 25 years for Mareike Möglich at ERICH JAEGER!🎊

This August, our colleague Mareike Möglich from RD1 in Friedberg could celebrate her 25th company anniversary.

Mareike started at ERICH JAEGER at the age of 16 as an apprentice as a technical drawer. After an additional on-the-job education program, she graduated as a technician for general mechanical engineering and automation technology and took over the role as project manager. 💡Learn more about 3-pin 6-24V trailer connectors according to DIN 9680 - powering supplemental functionalities in agricultural machinery💡

The standard applies to tractors and agricultural machinery with connector systems for transmitting electrical power. Permanent consumers on agricultural machinery with a power consumption of up to 25 A can be supplied by the electrical system of the tractor. An additional contact is intended for the connection with a switching line. The standard does not apply to the electrical connection between trailer and towing vehicle for the supply of the lighting system.

The ERICH JAEGER combo socket - Get two functionalities in one

The automotive standards SAE J1239 (4-pin) and SAE J2863 (7-pin) for trailer connectors are very common in the USA. They are used by passenger cars, trucks and light commercial vehicles for towing automotive trailers, RVs and light truck trailers. As the 4-pin system is not allowed to be used to tow a trailer of a particular weight (the regulations vary from state to state), sometimes the SAE J1239 4-pin connector is sufficient and sometimes, you need the SAE J2863 7-pin connector.

ERICH JAEGER offers you a solution for both systems by combining the 4-pin and the 7-pin connector within in one combo socket that allows you to tow the trailer of your choice.
