Quality matters:
Buying the cheapest firewood often means buying wood that hasn't been adequately dried, leading to a less efficient burn and potential frustration.

Proper seasoning:
For optimal burning, firewood needs to be properly seasoned (dried) for a period of time, which can increase its price.

Consider your needs:
If you only need a small amount of firewood occasionally, cheap options might be okay, but for consistent heating throughout the winter, investing in higher quality firewood is usually recommended.

DRY cherry meat smoking wood cut to 14”. We use vegetable oil in our chainsaw so the wood doesn’t get contaminated for cooking. $15.00 per bag. Have about 10 bags left. Also have a little hickory and oak.

To all our loyal and new customers who ordered unseasoned wood, due to unforeseen mechanical problems, our equipment is down (temporarily) as we have to wait for parts. We understand if you need to seek elsewhere for wood, since we are unsure how timely this may be. We fortunately do have some seasoned wood we can offer as pickup truck loads only. Sorry for this inconvenience. We are hoping to be up and running asap.

All firewood is not created equal. Hardwoods are more expensive than softwoods. Every tree type has its own value. But, based on my research — the high-end for firewood is $575, which I found in Texas and the low-end price for firewood is about $200, in Idaho and North Dakota; and as low as $150 in Delaware. Knowing these prices should help you determine if you’re being ripped off — or not. Use it as a reference point. Many firewood sellers don’t advertise their prices online, and prices can fluctuate depending on the weather and fuel costs. As I’ve said before — buy your firewood as early as possible. Prepare ahead of time. 🔥

There are several common measurements for firewood. The only official measurement, and in many areas the only legal measurement is a cord. There is a huge difference between a full cord of wood and other types of cords, like a face cord, a rick and a campers cord.

A lot of consumers are confused by these different measurements and end up getting a lot less wood than they were expecting. Knowing how much firewood is in a full cord, and the differences between these measurements, will help ensure you are actually getting the amount of wood you are paying for. For instance a full cord of firewood measures 128 cubic feet, a face cord / rick cord 42.5 cubic feet and a "campers" cord is 85 cubic feet. Some firewood sellers advertise a cord for less then other firewood sellers when in fact they are not actually selling the same amount. So it is important to ask what the cubic foot measurement is before purchasing. If anyone has any questions about firewood feel free to send me a message, or call / text 781-706-4416. Thank you!
