NC Tool Company Inc Manufacturer of Gas Forges, Anvils, & Farrier Tools. We are one of the largest farrier suppliers in the USA. Open to the public and ship daily. in 1976.

NC Tool Co was founded by Donald and Ruth Ann Jones, from Pleasant Garden NC. At the age of 25 Donald's horseback riding hobby led him to learning how to shoe his own Horses. He learned the trade by watching other farriers and his father- in- law, who was raised in a blacksmith shop. Donald became a full time Farrier in 1965, and for the next 10 years built a strong reputation for shoeing performance horses in the southeastern states. Realizing the need for a farrier school with emphasis on basic farrier skills, Donald with the help of his wife Ruth Ann founded North Carolina School Of Horseshoeing Inc. Which ran until 1983. Once the students were trained they had problems finding the equipment needed to begin their profession. To help the students Donald designed and developed the NC line of Farrier anvils. With special features for shaping shoes. The gas fired forge now known as the NC Whisper Forge soon followed and was patented in 1981. Today we are a leading manufacture and horseshoe supply co. Still family owned, producing the same quality products, making several improvements over the years.

Please see the below information about the passing of Mitchell Jones. The son of Donald and Ruth Ann Jones and the brother of Denise Jones and Rene' Aldridge.

Mitchell Lynn Jones passed away peacefully at home on October 1, 2026.

Mitchell was born on August 15, 1957, in Guilford County, North Carolina. He grew up in Pleasant Garden, where he graduated from Southeast Guilford High School and attended GTCC.

Shortly after graduating, Mitchell began his career as a farrier and became one of the top horseshoers in the state. He started working with his father, Donald Jones, at the young age of 11. By the age of 15, he had excelled in his work and could shoe a horse on his own. Mitchell traveled throughout North Carolina and the surrounding states, shoeing horses for more than 40 years. He became a certified farrier through the NCHA and later retired at the age of 55.

Mitchell enjoyed playing guitar and listening to music by his favorite artists, including Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard. He also enjoyed riding four-wheelers, driving his signature red truck, and spending time at home with his little dogs.

Mitchell is survived by his wife, Kaye Jones; his parents, Donald and Ruth Ann Jones; his sisters, Denise Jones and René Aldridge (David); and his niece and nephew, Abby Aldridge and Lukas Aldridge (Sabrina).

A visitation will be held at Forbis and Dick Funeral Service, 4601 Pleasant Garden Road, Pleasant Garden, North Carolina, on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a service in the chapel at 12:00 p.m.

Mitchell was a lifelong member of the North Carolina Horseshoers Association (NCHA). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the NCHA at 723 Manual Road, Mayodan,NC 27027
