Atlantic to Pacific Flooring is the product of three generations of hard work, integrity, devotion to customer service and innovation in the flooring industry. Our experience goes back to the early 1950s when Lester Makarius and his wife Ruth began a small mom and pop floor refinishing business called Busy Bee. They ran it successfully until Lester’s semi-retirement in 1986. After working with his

father summers and weekends as a child, Dennis Makarius joined the family business full time in 1975. Dennis formed his own company Floor King in 1978. Lester and Dennis continued to work together, and in 1997 Dennis’s son Chris decided to join the business, combining three generations of excellence and customer service from 1997 until Lester passed away in 2004. The commercial flooring end of the business grew into Atlantic To Pacific Flooring, installing laminate flooring in commercial chain stores from coast to coast. If you enter many Brooks Brothers, Casual Corner or Z-Gallery stores, you are walking on a floor installed by Atlantic To Pacific Flooring. Our company has installed well over one million feet of flooring a year, making us the largest independent installer in North America.
