One takeaway from the EXPOATAM show floor: keeping an industrial operation running takes an entire network of specialized partners.

Our team saw companies supporting everything from valves and industrial water treatment to equipment, maintenance and other critical plant needs.
Cooling is one part of that larger picture.

For WTX, seeing that broader ecosystem firsthand helped us better understand where our supply and fabrication capabilities can complement the work already being done throughout these facilities.

It also reinforced why getting out into the industries we serve matters. The better we understand the people, equipment and suppliers involved in an operation, the better conversations we can have about where WTX can provide support.

Brittany was nominated by Marcos Renya, VP, for her consistent willingness to step up wherever she is needed. Whether taking on a dual role, returning to responsibilities from previous positions, or tackling a new challenge, Brittany is someone the team can count on to see the job through.

Most recently, Brittany took the lead on setting up our Ohio warehouse, helping take it from an idea to a fully operational facility.

Her flexibility, initiative, and commitment to getting the job done have made a meaningful impact across WTX.

WTX recently traveled to Veracruz, Mexico, for EXPOATAM 2026, connecting with companies supporting Mexico’s sugar industry.

For our team, one of the biggest takeaways from the event was the value of being there in person.

Felipe Reyna, Marcos Reyna and Carlos German had the opportunity to strengthen relationships with existing customers, including BayPark and Thermal, while also making new connections across the industry.

From valve manufacturers and suppliers to water treatment companies and other industrial service providers, EXPOATAM gave our team a closer look at the network of companies helping keep sugar operations moving.

Thank you to BayPark, Thermal, and everyone who took the time to connect with us and make our team feel welcome in Veracruz.

We’re looking forward to building on these relationships and finding new ways WTX can support customers and partners throughout Mexico.

Please join us in welcoming Carlos German to WTX Supply & Fabrication as our new Sales Specialist!

A Houston native with more than a decade of experience in sales, strategic account management, and business development, Carlos brings a strong background working across oil & gas, industrial equipment, manufacturing, infrastructure, marine technology, and heavy equipment.

In his new role, Carlos will focus on supporting and expanding WTX relationships throughout Houston, the Texas Gulf Coast, and surrounding markets, while also helping us continue to grow our customer relationships throughout Mexico.
For Carlos, it all starts with relationships.

“I'm not interested in simply making a sale. I want to build partnerships that continue to grow over time.”

That relationship-first approach, combined with his experience developing new markets and supporting industrial customers, makes Carlos a great addition as WTX continues to expand.

Outside of work, Carlos enjoys spending time with his wife and son, playing soccer, fishing, grilling, flying drones as a licensed Part 107 pilot, and cheering on FC Barcelona. He also played both soccer and football at East Texas Baptist University.

The wrong material can turn a routine repair into another maintenance problem.

Cooling towers operate in demanding conditions. Constant moisture, UV exposure, chemicals, temperature changes, and structural loads can all take a toll on components over time.

That is why material selection matters.

Choosing the right material for the application can help:

Uneven cooling performance is often a warning sign that something inside the cooling tower needs attention.

When one area of a tower is doing more of the work than another, a few common issues are worth investigating:

💧 Poor water distribution
Clogged, damaged, or improperly operating nozzles can prevent water from being distributed evenly across the fill.

🌬️ Airflow restrictions
Damaged components, debris, or other obstructions can interfere with consistent airflow through the tower.

⚙️ Mechanical equipment issues
Problems with fans, drives, motors, or related components can affect airflow and overall tower performance.

🔧 Worn or damaged fill
Aging, fouled, or deteriorated fill can reduce effective air-to-water contact and contribute to inconsistent cooling.
