A machine starting in the shop does not necessarily mean it is ready for six, eight, or ten hours of continuous winter work.

Preseason equipment assessments are about looking beyond the obvious. How did the unit perform last winter? Which issues kept returning? Are the attachments working properly under load? Is there a backup plan if a primary unit goes down?

Those are better questions to answer in now than during an active snow event.
