APPLICATION:
DC power back up at a sewage lift station for continued PLC, radio and level instrumentation power.

CUSTOMER ISSUE:
Needed to maintain communications, PLC control and wet well level measurement at multiple sewage lift stations even if the main power is lost. Needed DC power back up at stations with generators in case generator failed to start.

OUR SOLUTION:
Installed Puls UPS Controller with battery, Puls 24 VDC power supply and DC to DC converters. Customer now has both 12 VDC and 24 VDC power available to maintain station communications, station control and wet well level measurement. The Puls UPS Controller also provides an alarm output to the station PLC to notify maintenance personnel of the loss of main power.

SITUATION: Customer needed a daily flow total for water being pumped from a well to ensure they didn't pull more than their permitted amount. There was no power or signal wires available, and the distance was far enough that it would have been prohibitively costly.

SOLUTION: Battery powered wireless insertion flow meter. With 1 Watt of 900mhz power, the flow total is able to be transmitted up to 6 miles. Battery life is better than a year, and is standard D size lithium(~$20).

We had a customer who has an existing 36" ductile iron pipe that is decades old that they want to measure flow in. Using the Siemens clamp on ultrasonic flowmeter with magnetic mounts setup was quick and easy, and the meter started reading as soon as it was on the pipe. No work on the pipe and can be tested ahead of time.

A customer was having maintenance issues with their older free CL2 analyzer, including constant refilling of expensive reagents and clogging of the sample input..

To solve this we installed an FC80 free chlorine analyzer by Electro-Chemical Devices. This unit utilizes amperometric CL2 measurement technology. It requires no reagents and has pH compensation as well as automatic input sample flow control. No rotameter or flow control device required. Now maintenance is a breeze and the customer has a reliable, cost-effective analyzer.
