This damaging invasive insect pest ​has established populations in​ New York, Delaware, and Virginia​, including Carroll County,​ VA,​ just north of Surry County, NC​. Early detection is critical in stopping its spread and minimizing the devastating effect it could have ​in NC ​on landscapes, communities, businesses and agricultural crops, particularly grapevines, fruit trees, and a wide range of hardwood trees.
