Another day in the shop, with three jobs on the floor:
⚙️ Our new 3 Axis Centroid CNC is positioned and wired. “Some assembly required” but we’re fired up and excited to start making some chips!
🔵 Started with a 4.125 bore, rough bored to 4.182. Going .060 over wiped out the factory bore reliefs at the bottom of the cylinders — the ones that give you proper overstroke room during honing to keep everything straight. So we ran a secondary operation, dropped below the cylinders to 4.195 on the same bore centerline. Final honed size: 4.185.
🔴 Sonny’s 5” Chevy Hemi head came in with a surface that looked like someone dragged it along the concrete (just kidding…) But it was rough enough to compromise combustion sealing — so we surfaced it down well below MLS finish requirements. Ready to seal up all the combustion!
Grateful for the work and the trust people put in us. We don’t take that lightly.
