⛵️ Have an old sailboat that needs a little TLC and you know you’ll never get around to it? Donate it to Gulf Shore Sailing and help us build back our program! A message from our treasurer:
After Ian, Helene and Milton we have difficult sailing ahead... I am the treasurer of Gulf Shore Sailing, the Punta Gorda Sailing School on Retta Esplanade. We are a group of volunteers who teach sailing to kids and adults in camps and private sessions. Ian cost us the YMCA building, which we were renting, and Milton took our new home at the Punta Gorda Boat Club. Much of our equipment was in a makeshift shed which we built on the old dumpster site. The storm broke the door and we lost a lot of our rigging. Many of our boats were also totaled. But we want to continue with our mission to promote small boat sailing in Charlotte Harbor. If there are people who would like to volunteer and help us, they can contact us through our website at https://www.learntosailswf.org/home.html. Sailing experience would be nice but is not essential. Some of our income comes from taking donated old boats, fixing and selling them. If you have a boat like that, we would love your donation. Please call 239-898-5847. Thanks everybody for your support.
