Nuer investigates the function of the wall covering by separating the tile from its conception as a mere decorative element to extend it to the whole surface.
The tile is made up of the repetition of a module with three faces, each with its angle and color, designed to create interesting color gradations that blend depending on the point of view, the angle, and the distance of the observer. The size allows you to both tint huge surfaces and compose different chromatic effects of innovative dynamism.
Thanks to the precision of Livingceramics’ digital printing technology applied to the three-dimensional design of this tile, it is possible to reproduce the soft shades and combinations of colors inspired by nature, thereby designing a connection between interior and exterior enhancing the quality of the space.

The designer Keiji Takeuchi, from the beginning of the project, was drawn to creating tiles that enrich the atmosphere of a space rather than designing a strongly prominent element. This perspective led to an exploration of the relationship between light and shadow. He therefore decided to use a 3D surface that produces a subtle yet sharp pattern of shades across the monochromatic tile surface. The relief is so subtle that it creates a pleasant tactile experience. It is also enjoyable to perceive the time of day through the transition of this living motif. Shades comes in five tones.
