No. 1 Qualifier Spotlight: Scott Taylor Motorsports 🔥🏁
Scott Taylor currently sits at the top of the Outlaw Street field at zMAX Dragway during the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals after laying down an impressive 3.68 at 210 MPH in qualifying. With one final qualifying session still ahead, Taylor and his team are in a strong position.
“The pass was incredible because it was smooth from start to finish,” Taylor said. “When I looked up at the board going 210 mph, I said to myself… that should get it done ”
From the moment the car left the line, Taylor knew it was a strong pass.
“It felt great from the start and I could tell the car was really moving well and was on a good run.”
Taylor credited his car and team for helping put him at the top of a stacked field.
“The chassis from Bad Habitz Fab is awesome. I truly believe he built me the best race car on the planet. The tune-up was on point and I can’t thank Triangle Sport Shop enough for what we’ve learned together. My favorite part is tuning and setting up the suspension on the car.”
For Taylor, earning the top spot so far means even more because of what his team has built.
“It almost doesn’t seem real. We’re a super low-budget team and do most everything in-house, so to be running with this caliber of cars and tuners is an insane feeling.”
He also made sure to recognize his team:
“We have the best team in the world. I’d put my little team up against anyone — Mike Cameron, Todd Butterfield, Gatwood, Austin O, Craig P, and my wife Heather Taylor.”
Taylor says no prep racing has helped prepare them for any track condition.
“One cool thing about our class is we take the track the way it lays. We’re not waiting on track prep. No prep racing has taught us how to adapt to a moving target. We can usually get down anything and go fast.”
The celebration was even sweeter with Michael Scott.
