As longtime sponsors of the annual Home Depot Supply Chain Event, Telgian associates are making a real difference in the lives of our nation’s heroes. Telgian is proud to be a benefactor of The Home Depot Foundation and grateful that our sponsorship has a meaningful impact on veterans across America. This year’s event alone helped raise over $6.4 million.

Recently, Telgian leaders Steve Goyette, Leonard Ramo and Ralph Bless did more than simply offer the company’s financial support, when they joined the The Home Depot Foundation in Colorado Springs to transform the Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center. Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center provides transition and employment assistance, behavioral health and wellness, support services, community resources and safe event space for veterans, active military members and their families. Volunteers renovated the facility’s outdoor spaces, laying sod, landscaping and building tables, chairs and other outdoor structures.

It's Fire Prevention Week and this year’s theme is “Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work for You!”

The 2024 theme was chosen to highlight the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home. So, this week is the perfect opportunity to test your smoke and CO alarms, replace anything that is broken or expired, and then encourage family and friends to do the same!

Telgian Engineering & Consulting fire protection expert Jason R. Williams, CET will present a “What to Expect During Your Annual Fire Sprinkler Inspection” webinar on October 10 from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm ET.

This course will focus on the annual fire sprinkler inspection and testing requirements as well as what a building owner should expect when the service provider arrives to deliver this service. Williams will also discuss some deficiencies commonly found during the annual visit and how those deficiencies may impact the proper function of the fire sprinkler system.

Tragically, the threat of violence in our schools has become all too real. With the alarming frequency of school shootings, educational facilities sometimes turn to “homemade solutions” to keep doors shut to dangerous intruders. Unfortunately, these also block emergency-exit paths, violating life-safety codes. Each winter, costly repairs are caused by frozen and broken pipes, most often associated with dry pipe sprinkler systems. Many of these events can be avoided with simple and routine maintenance performed by in-house personnel. When not periodically drained, water accumulates and freezes, causing the dry pipe valve to trip, often resulting in water damage to the immediate area… and beyond.
