Welcome to the first post in our new series taking you behind the scenes of the Rheia system! 🔍 Today, we are putting the spotlight on the 3-inch Ferrule.
At first glance, it might just look like a simple plastic part. It’s the kind of part that usually goes completely unnoticed. But look a little closer, and you’ll see it’s the exact opposite of a crude, traditional sheet metal fitting. This highly engineered component changes the way HVAC systems are installed, for the better.
Here is what is hiding in this small package:
Precision Engineering: Manufactured to tolerances of a few thousandths of an inch. It’s designed to fit perfectly, every single time.
Tape-Free, Mastic-Free: Say goodbye to the mess. With built-in snap fits and a molded-in screw thread, it literally "clicks" into other Rheia components and seals directly to ducts.
Installer-Friendly: We added built-in knurling for an easy, comfortable grip. It's lightweight and won't cut their hands to shreds.
Extreme Durability: This isn't your average plastic. It’s a high-performance, flame-retardant Polycarbonate/ABS blend that survives drop tests, crush tests, and a brutal heat soak at 256°F for 60 days.
Certified Safe: Fully traceable with manufacturer date stamps and tested to rigorous UL standards (UL 2043, UL 181C, and UL94).
