Mother’s Day Feature: The Woman Behind the Wrench
Before Joe Davis Autosport had a full team, 10 bays, and a packed parking lot, it started in our dark, cold basement at home with two garage bays on either side, a washer and dryer running in the background, and a desk squeezed under the stairs next to the heater and water tank.
That was our office. That was our beginning.
While I worked on cars, Cindi was doing everything else. Answering phones, ordering parts, talking with customers, helping build the business from the ground up, and raising our three kids all at the same time. There were no shortcuts, no guarantees, and no clear roadmap. Just long days, late nights, and a commitment to keep pushing forward for the family we were building together.
Long before we had a waiting room or a reputation, she was building relationships. Remembering people’s names. Asking about their families. Making customers feel cared for before the business was ever fully built.
What I didn’t fully understand back then was that she wasn’t just helping run the business. She was helping shape what it would become.
Today, that same love and dedication still lives on through the family she helped create, not just through the shop, but through our three kids and two grandsons who continue to be at the center of everything.
A lot has changed over the years, but the heart behind this place never has.
The way we talk to people, the way we try to help, and the feeling customers get when they walk through our doors all traces back to those early days and the foundation Cindi helped create.
This Mother’s Day, I just want to say thank you to the woman who helped build not just a business, but a family, a community, and a life centered around caring for others.
Happy Mother’s Day, Cindi ❤️
