About:
My name is Roman Borvanov and I am a former world top 200 ATP singles and doubles player. I finished my pro career at the end of 2013 and now teach tennis full time in South Florida. The experience that I have gained over the years playing tennis professionally and the teachings of other coaches who have helped me grow is ingrained in all of my methods. I make sure that my students learn th
e right way and enjoy the process of becoming a better tennis player. I seek to instill in my students principles that will help them win both on the tennis court and in life. The lessons I learned on the tour are invaluable and coaching in a private and semi-private setting is a great way to pass the knowledge to an aspiring junior or anyone who is looking to improve. I can promise that you will learn to Rally Better without committing many unforced errors, Move Quicker using proper footwork and, finally, become a better competitive player using certain bulletproof tactics. I am a big believer in hard work and one of my favorite quotes, which my college coach imprinted on the back of the team practice shirts is: “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard”. By pushing yourself to the max in training everyday, you will also improve your mental aspect of the game which in a tight match can be the difference between winning and losing. I will go an an extra mile and help you choose proper strings and equipment, and whenever I can, I will go with you to the local tournaments and help you stay relaxed before the match and have a simple game plan with a few tactics which you will try to execute. I will help your tennis game using all the necessary teaching tools. Your average strokes will turn into reliable good strokes and your good strokes into great ones. My singles and doubles drills will give you more confidence in your baseline and volley game. My experience of playing at every level of this sport can help any player achieve his/her goals of making it on a high school team, college tennis team and if physically and mentally ready – turning pro.
