The Cogar Under-Cutter was engineered with one goal in mind: help underground operations get more out of every cut.

Most commonly used in salt mining operations, the Under-Cutter is designed to deliver straighter cuts, smoother floors, and increased tonnage yields while giving operators the power and control needed in demanding underground environments.

With available 9’–22’ bar lengths, a 400 HP electric motor, PLC-controlled operation, touchscreen interface, and a heavy-duty design that allows the machine to “crab” for faster, more efficient cuts, this is a machine built around production.

And because no two mines are exactly alike, Cogar can customize the Under-Cutter around the needs of the operation.

And right now, we have a few different custom Under-Cutters taking shape in our shop, each built around the specific needs and conditions of the operation it’s headed to.

👀 A little behind-the-scenes look at what’s happening at Cogar Manufacturing!

There’s always something being built, machined, welded, assembled, tested, or getting ready to head out the door.

While Cogar may be best known for our feeder breakers and mining equipment, our capabilities go much further. Our team handles everything from custom industrial equipment and material handling systems to heavy steel fabrication, CNC machining, conveyor components, hoppers, chutes, structural steel, rebuilds, and one-of-a-kind customer projects.

And we can support a project from beginning to end—site planning and engineering through fabrication, machining, electrical, mechanical, assembly, installation support, parts, and field service.

Not every project we build is a complete machine, sometimes it's the custom-engineered components that keep an operation moving.

Our team is currently fabricating a custom material chute for a C.O.A.L Heidelberg Materials operation. Designed to help control the flow of bulk material, components like this play an important role in improving efficiency, reducing material loss, and keeping processing systems operating reliably.

At Cogar Manufacturing, we take pride in building more than equipment. We build custom solutions engineered to meet each customer's specific application... whether it's a complete material handling system or a single fabricated component.

Here's a sneak peek at one section of a major custom fabrication project currently underway at Cogar Manufacturing.

We're keeping the details under wraps for now, but we can tell you this.... it's going to be BIG. This is the first of several projects like it already scheduled for production, and we're excited to share the journey from fabrication to final installation.

Every custom build that leaves our shop starts with our customers' unique needs and is backed by experienced engineering, skilled craftsmanship, and a commitment to quality that's been the foundation of Cogar Manufacturing for decades.

No two projects that come through our shop are exactly alike.

One day, our team may be machining a precision shaft in the CNC shop. The next, we're fabricating a structural assembly, engineering a custom conveyor system, rebuilding a feeder breaker, or preparing equipment for installation in the field.

That's what makes custom manufacturing rewarding.

Every project brings a unique challenge, and every challenge is an opportunity to apply decades of engineering, machining, fabrication, and field service experience to deliver a solution built specifically for our customer's operation.
