The Department of Energy's new motor efficiency regulations go into effect June 2027.

This new regulation is meant to reduce energy usage and cut operating costs with higher efficiency industrial motors. While existing motors will not need to be replaced, newly manufactured and sold motors will need to be certified to a higher standard, many of them NEMA SUPER Premium (equivalent to IE4).
