When a customer brings me an idea and I’m able to design and fabricate the project for them it’s fun to see the end result. I built this deer hanger for a customer and it made me smile when I got the photo of a deer hanging from it. The customer wanted it to be capable of hanging up 2 deer and be able to take it apart to make it portable. Works great for up at deer camp or at home.

Congrats to all the youth hunters who got their deer and wishing a safe and successful hunt to those still chasing their big buck this fall.

A customer needed floor drain grates built for their new shop floor. I had the pleasure of fabricating and painting the grates for them. Here are some photos of the project. Another fun project from this summer. A customer wanted to make his sawmill movable. I built a frame to fit the sawmill with an axle and a hitch with removable tongue. It’s hard to believe we are half way thru September. It was a busy summer in the shop with all kinds of projects. Thanks to all my customers for their support and business. From trailer repairs to boat lifts here is a couple projects that I was able to help customers with.

I’ve had quite the variety of projects thru the shop lately. From fabricating to repair of various things. Making a replacement door pin on my lathe. I’ve posted a few pictures of these projects. This spout from a Gehl chopper was getting thin and wore through from all the years of use. When new ones are no longer available only option is to fix what you have. I was able to cut out bad areas and make new pieces to weld in. Now it’s ready to chop some hay.

Since June is Dairy month a big thank you to all the Dairy farmers for your hard work and dedication. So we can all can enjoy milk and those delicious dairy products.

Since we are in dock installation season I thought this would be a good share for those that have floe dock adjustable legs. I had a customer bring me a few legs that would no longer adjust. They are non serviceable so I cut them apart to see if I could repair them. I found 2 failures. They failed because of broken tack welds or because the plastic nut failed. That’s right there is a plastic nut on a 3/4 acme thread aluminum threaded rod that does all the adjusting. I was able to find a replacement nut to repair them. So keep that in mind when adjusting them. Don’t over do it the nuts will split or strip. See photos below of what I’ve found.

Check out the custom pickup box rack I fabricated for a customer. It features a removable rear bar for loading and 10 different tie down loops for holding material in different positions.
