Last Thursday, our team got a firsthand look at the future of homebuilding in Southeast Houston.

Alongside Cole Klein Builders, Hive3d Builders, and Young Industries, Zuri Gardens is on track to become the second-largest 3D-printed subdivision in the nation, with 80 homes proposed for construction.

As a firm involved in master-planned communities, it was exciting to see the early stages of how this innovative technology is shaping the future of development.

Yesterday, our team visited the Westwood Subdivision Recreation Center in League City to see the results of one of our active projects. In partnership with Johnson Simon Resources and Karsten Interior Services, we installed acoustic ceiling baffles and wall panels to help absorb sound and improve acoustics inside the recreation center. These improvements will allow community members to better enjoy their events while helping surrounding neighbors rest a little easier.

Earlier this month, a few members of our team had the privilege to participate in this year’s Team Up to Clean Up Event hosted by the City of Pasadena Neighborhood Network Program. Together with the Pasadena Public Library and Mobile Modular, we teamed up to revitalize a local home with landscaping adjustments and a new paint coat. Earlier this month, JMI had the pleasure of honoring and celebrating our Director of Architecture, Cathleen Hart, as she embarks on her retirement. There was no challenge she couldn’t tackle — from interior renovations to the rehabilitation of the 1939 Bob Harris Post Office, Cathleen dedicated her career to turning clients’ visions into reality. Her joyful and cheerful spirit was contagious and will be deeply missed by our team. Alongside her husband, Cathleen looks forward to enjoying retirement surrounded by her children and grandchildren. All of us at JMI will miss her dearly and we wish her the best in this exciting new chapter. Congratulations Cathleen! 🎉

Wanted: Licensed Architect!

We're hiring a licensed architect to join the JMI team. This person will provide professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and engineering coordination for various projects. The JMI Licensed Architect will be an integral part of our Houston area projects including commercial buildings, municipal infrastructure, large industrial buildings, and master planned communities/subdivisions.

Qualifications:
-2+ years of experience in commercial architecture design (outstanding academic achievements may replace experience requirements)
-Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited program
-High proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT is mandatory
-Working knowledge of codes and standards; experience in Houston is a plus

We are offering a competitive salary and benefits to the candidate with the right experience and company fit.
