Utah's Closed Fire Season Begins June 1

From June 1 through October 31, seasonal burning restrictions are in effect across much of Utah to help reduce the risk of human-caused wildfires during the hottest and driest months of the year.

Before conducting any open burning activity, check current restrictions and local requirements.

Lint happens. Fires don’t have to. Lint buildup can lead to a dryer fire if it’s not cleaned regularly.

• Clean the lint filter before or after each load.
• Make sure the outdoor vent flap opens when the dryer is running.
• Have a qualified service person clean the inside of the dryer cabinet and exhaust duct once a year.
