June 2010 complete management and control was passed to D. William (Dan) Boone and Elaine J. Dan started with the family-owned business at a very early age and worked under the leadership of his entrepreneurial parents. Dan's mother Eleanor Robbins Boone was recognized for her entrepreneurial strength in the heavy duty truck industry. Eleanor Robbins Boone, who co-founded Boone Trailer in 1946 - subsequently invaded the "man's world" of the trucking business in 1964 by founding PTS - Palmer Trailer Sales Company, Inc. Initially engaged in installing fifth wheels and tag and pusher axles Eleanor expanded the business to meet the growing demands of the local trucking industry. Under her leadership, PTS earned numerous awards and recognition from trade industry groups including the Truck Equipment & Body Distributors Association. Eleanor was recognized as "a pioneer very few hardly new"- leaving her legacy to believe in yourself - each other and your expectations. PTS received recognition at the Quaboag Hills Chamber of Commerce Annual Regional Meeting, April 26th with the "50 Years Milestone Award." Dan and Elaine were also presented with official citations from both the Massachusetts State Senate and the House of Representatives. Elaine was also presented with a "Certificate of Appreciation" for her work volunteer work with the QHCC. Attended Palmer public schools and served on many town committees as well as the 1st woman to serve three (3) consecutive terms on the Palmer Board of Selectmen up to 2004. Attended Holyoke Community College and American International College and received a Masters Degree in Marketing and Finance. Work history included western Massachusetts based company's Smith & Wesson and Stanley Home Products - with last position as VP Marketing up to 2008. William Boone (Dan) July 2007 and began working in the family business in July 2010.
