DONT FORGET to bring out the kiddos to see Santa and his reindeer tomorrow night!!! Tons of fun 🎅🎄🎅🎄

The City of Covington Christmas calendar includes Santa and live reindeer on the Square on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.! Santa will be in his Santa chair on the NE corner of Square Park in downtown Covington, Georgia while the reindeer will be near the Christmas tree. Since Christmas will be less than a week away, Santa and the reindeer will need to depart at 8 p.m. to prepare for their global journey, so depending on the length of the lines, lines may close at approximately 7:30 p.m. Be sure to bring your camera or phone to take pictures...visiting with Santa and the reindeer is free!

The eastside (Church Street) and westside (Monticello Street) streets of the Square will close to vehicular traffic and parking at 5 p.m. to create a pedestrian friendly environment inside Square park. Vehicular traffic will be allowed in the outer lane of Washington Street and the outer lane of Clark Street.

🎀Stores will be open for shopping and dining in downtown Covington!🎀

And Newton County Schools L4GA "Santa's Bookshop" tent will be onsite offering a FREE book to each child who stops by!

Lights at Legion kickoff this weekend, come out and support your local businesses!!!

The 2nd Annual Lights at Legion Kickoff is Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and it will be a magical display of community creativity and a Christmas wonderland! This event is FREE to attend...walk the path around Legion Field to take in over 175 individually decorated trees by local businesses, organizations and families!

The Christmas spirit extends beyond the beautiful trees with more holiday fun to enjoy at the Lights at Legion Kickoff including:
🎄 Covington Farmers Market Mistletoe Market: 50 vendors will be set up in the Legion Field parking lot and pavilion with a gift and goody selection that will make Santa's elves jealous! Shop local artisans, bakers, craft makers, wood workers, and more for this one and only night of the Mistletoe Market.
🎄 .skatingrink will be open during the Kickoff! Visit icedays.com/covington for hours of operation and prices.
🎄 SANTA will be visiting with attendees in the Legion Fair building starting around 7 p.m. Bring your camera or phone to take a picture with Santa.🎅
🎄 Food trucks (TBA) with snacks and drinks + a big screen playing Christmas movie shorts on the field will round out the event. Bring your blanket or chairs to sit and watch Christmas movie shorts surrounded by the beautiful Christmas trees after you shop, get some food, and visit with Santa.
🎄 People's Choice Awards: While at the Kickoff, you'll have the opportunity to vote for your FAVORITE Business, Organization, and Family trees to crown this year's People's Choice trees. You can ONLY vote at the Kickoff and one winner in each category will be announced the following week!

Saturday - DECEMBER 14th - The City of Oxford is hosting it's annual Winter Fest!!! Come out and join for the holiday's!

In just a little over a month, we will have our annual Oxford Winter Fest! With over 50 vendors, this is the perfect time to shop local for gifts! We will also have food trucks in attendance for a bite to eat, and the one and only Santa Claus will be taking a break from the North Pole to visit Oxford and meet all the children!

Make plans to join us on Saturday, December 14th, 11am-3pm at 915 Emory Street - beside the post office.
