Congratulations to our employee, Ava Hanvey, on officially signing into the CoMeT Program at Gadsden State Community College! ✍️🎉

Ava joined our team in January 2026 as a part-time employee while finishing high school. During that time, she was enrolled at the Calhoun County Career Academy, where she studied Precision Machining. She will begin this exciting next chapter at the end of May.

The Consortium of Machining Education Training (CoMeT) is a highly competitive, hybrid apprenticeship-style program. Students attend classes two days a week while gaining hands-on experience with an industry partner. This “earn while you learn” model blends advanced manufacturing curriculum with real-world application, while also developing business knowledge and the principles of a world-class manufacturer.

We’re proud of you, Ava, and excited to see all you accomplish in this next step of your journey!

We loved having Mr. Sparks’ “We Build It Better” class from Oxford Middle School out at Associated MetalCast today!

These 8th graders got a firsthand look at how parts are made right here in our shop and maybe even sparked some future career interest 👀👏🏻
