Earth Tools

Earth Tools Earth Tools specializes in walk-behind tractors, implements, and professional gardening tools. In any business, experience counts.

We are currently the largest walk-behind tractor dealership in North America (by a large margin!), and carry only the highest-quality European designs. Joel Dufour, Earth Tools founder, has been using, selling, and servicing walk-behind tractors since 1977. These tractors are used worldwide for small-scale and urban farming, horticultural, industrial, landscaping, and home use. We provide complete

service and parts for all equipment we sell, and are dedicated to providing the customer service we would want to receive ourselves. Our dedication extends to reducing our carbon footprint, as well, and Earth Tools is 100% solar powered! We have incorporated passive solar design, south facing windows, and thermal mass collectors into the design of the buildings. We have [home made!] natural-convection solar air heaters and a super-high-efficiency "mini-split" heat pump system for heating and cooling. We also use a roof-water catchment system and gravity-flow plumbing, and our "facilities" consists of a compost toilet that uses zero water (or there's an outhouse, too, if you'd rather!). In addition to our green energy/resource practices, we reuse, recycle, and rebuild as much material as we can, including: all packing material and boxes (extra cardboard is recycled or processed into packing material), paper, plastic, steel, and aluminum trash, all wooden pallets (excess/scrap wood is used for home heating), and nylon pallet strapping material when possible. We don't claim to be a totally green business, but we do our best. Everybody needs to do their part, and we’re trying to do ours.
