In addition to doing complete circle track, derby, street/strip, muscle car, restoration type engine builds, we offer a number of general machine shop services for carry in customers as well.

This fully machined 350 SBC block that we did earlier this year is a prime example of some of the block work + services that we can/will provide.

This block was:
• Thermal Cleaned
• Crack Checked
• Align Honed
• Bored
• Decked
• Torque Plate Honed
• Lifter Bores Honed
• Jet Washed for final clean
• New Cam Bearings Installed
• New Frost Plugs Installed
• New Oil gallery Plugs Installed

455 Pontiac Block that we did a couple of months back!

This block was brought to us for some pretty straightforward work. After giving the block a deep clean in our jet tank, we then bored + honed the cylinders for a set of oversized pistons. We then gave the block one more thorough wash and inspection before we installed new cam bearings and frost plugs.

The customer who brought this block to us was a new customer, and was a great guy to work with, we appreciate your business!

When you roll down the driveway at Wanders you never know what you may find sitting in the parking lot. Yesterday it was this awesome vintage race car that a customer of ours from Blue Grass, Iowa brought down for us to do a once over on the engine before he got his season started.

We ran the valves, Checked ignition timing, adjusted the carburetor floats, inspected the valve train for any possible issues like broken valve springs, dampers, rocker arms that may have been on the verge of failure etc. outside of needing to re Jet the carburetor a little bit, no major issues were found!

Our Sunnen Thermal Cleaning system has been putting in a lot of hours here as of late!

This system is very crucial to what we do here at the shop, as it allows us to take a greasy, oily, sometimes even heavily rusted block and clean it up like new. This is crucial because not only does it give us a clean end product to work with but it allows us to better see any issues that the block may have like cracks, rust pits in key areas like cylinders, main bores, lifter bores, damaged threads, broken bolts, or any other odd issues that the block may have.

In addition to blocks, we also have a rack/fixture that allows us to clean crankshafts, cylinders heads, and intake manifolds as well.

We think this is a unique service that we provide that would be a great benefit to your next engine build. If you’re interested in having a block, pair of heads, crank, intake manifold etc. cleaned feel free to reach out to us! Shop information is posted below 👇

357 c.i. circle track engine that we finished up a couple of weeks ago.
We fitted this engine with a new Edelbrock 2701 Performer intake manifold and installed a new set of Isky valve springs before firing it up on the stand!
