Lapham-Hickey Cares. During the month of November we collected food donations from our employees at all 3 of our facilities. This was a major success. We want to say a Huge Thank You to our team members that participated!! We were able to make a single large donation at the beginning of December to the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry.

Lapham-Hickey Steel hosted an event at our Oshkosh location to support our employees and their children with a Back-to-School supplies handout on 8/28 & 8/29.
We had a great turn out, 113 students signed up and came in for cookies, drinks, to pick up their gift bags and some posed for a family photo marking the milestone. We received numerous “thank you’s” for having this event and many of the children were very excited to come into their parent/guardian’s workplace and meet some of the office staff.
We wish all the students a happy school year and were proud to meet the families and see so many smiling faces!

Lapham-Hickey’s first annual “Females in Fabrication event” was a huge success.

We saw a remarkable turnout from students who ventured from the classroom into our fabrication shop. A tour of our facilities provided students with a unique perspective on the fabrication shop floor operations.
The students then participated in welding activities, creating projects from blueprints, with 5 students experiencing welding for the first time.
Lunch was provided, and students heard from leading women in the industry about their journeys in manufacturing careers.
All participants went home with new welding jackets, gloves & PPE, Rytec swag bags & event shirts. Notable prizes were awarded, including a raffle for welding helmets, and each participant became eligible for $15,000 in scholarships to Fox Valley Technical College courtesy of Lapham-Hickey cares. Our sincerest appreciation goes to our collaborating sponsors, including Miller Electric, Rytec, Lincoln Electric, Linde, Fox Valley Technical College, and the Oshkosh Area School District, whose collective efforts made this event possible. We eagerly anticipate next year’s event, taking pride in paving the way for future careers in metal fabrication.

Legacy can be defined as, “The long-lasting impact of events, actions, or people.” Each year, we recognize our team members for their service and contribution to the ongoing legacy of Lapham Hickey Steel. This year we are celebrating 99 years of service; we are also celebrating our amazing team members who have hit milestones in their legacy. With 94 individuals receiving awards for a combination of over 1,330 years, this year is truly an amazing milestone for us all.

We had an amazing time at the 'Future You Career Expo' put on by the Oshkosh Chamber and the OASD. Speaking to young students about career opportunities was very rewarding. We had a great response to our virtual welder simulator, donated by Miller Welders, many students with their first attempt scored in the high 80's and 90's. That's a sign of a skilled welder! Thanks again to all who made this event possible and to the students for stopping by our booth to speak with us.
