On Monday, Clarke Extension & SWCC pulled off another great Kids' Construction Camp!

This is the 10th year Highway Lumber has participated in this event, and Adam was back again to lend his expertise in teaching the kids how to construct the design he created.

Along with Ron Utley & Joe Beaman from SWCC, Sidney & Jasmine from Extension, & a nice group of helpful SWCC Construction Trades students, Adam assisted 14 students in building a treasure box while they learned safety practices, problem solving, and "tricks of the trade."

Thanks again to Clarke County Extension & Outreach and SWCC for putting on such an amazing annual event for this area's youngsters, and for allowing Adam to represent our store as we happily give a little back to the community that has been so supportive & kind to us.🏘️🫶

Adam had a great time representing Highway Lumber at this morning's Kids' Construction Day Camp put on by Clarke Extension & SWCC! The participants learned some excellent skills & went home with sturdy treasure boxes. We will post more pics in the next day or two, so stay tuned!

Until then, we have a small number of extra treasure box kits that are free for any Clarke County child who would like a little project! Adam said if you can catch him in the 'yard, he will even be happy to give a quick tutorial about how to put the box together.

If we happen to run out, Adam will put together a new kit for a small price. He wants any child who is willing to learn to be able to make their own box.🔨

For over 70 years, we have valued the treasured citizens of this community.✨🫶

Summer is when we all tend to think about any concrete projects that need to be done.

We always have plenty of these on hand! Quik-Tube® rigid fiber building forms are excellent choices for mailbox bases, deck supports, lamp & fence posts, etc. They come in various diameters & can easily be cut to height.

Work smarter, not harder! If your concrete job involves any sort of cylindrical-shaped foundations, make sure these make it on your supply list. 📋✔️

Here we are in yet another weekend, and June with all its lovely weather is marching on. While you're "dressing for the mid-80s," what projects do you need to complete while Mother Nature is on our side?🌞

It's National Jerky Day! No wonder I woke up this morning with a strange craving for dried nonperishable food...🤔🥩

There you'll find everything you need to dry out any food you feel like jerky-fying. Dehydrators, seasonings, kits...and I was today years old when I learned there is even such a thing as a jerky gun. It looks kinda handy!🤩

We may not host swim meets🏊‍♀️, hydrate athletes🏃🏽‍➡️, sell parakeets🦜, or have all the meats🥪. But when it comes to providing a wide array of items our customers want & need, we can't be beat ✨🥇

-Highway Lumber has been in the same family since 1960
-We employ 18 local awesome people, some of which have been with us for decades
-We offer myriad services big & small, and have been a Do It Best retailer since 2014
-In 2025 we introduced HL financing, interest free for 6 months for purchases $300+
