Last month, Cliff traveled to 🇹🇷 Istanbul to witness an ancient engineering marvel: the Basilica Cistern 💧

Built in the 6th century under Emperor Justinian, this underground wonder once stored stormwater to supply the entire city of Constantinople with fresh water.

Holding up to 80,000 cubic meters, the cistern is supported by 336 towering columns, many repurposed from earlier Roman ruins 🏛️

An incredible feat of ancient architecture. A true testament to how the Romans mastered water management and city design ⚙️✨
