Malever) has completed brick pavement construction along Oregon Street up to Morris Avenue, including the completion of curb inlets and asphalt pavement along Morris Avenue. The Contractor continues to work towards Altaloma Avenue, including the removal and replacement of brick pavement in front of the Orlando Gifted Academy (formerly Fern Creek Elementary School) bus turnout lane. The Colonialtown Drainage Improvement project is underway, with the first drainage structure in place at the intersection of Hampton Avenue and Oregon Street. The specialized drainage structure will connect the proposed 66-inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe to be constructed along Oregon Street to the existing 108-inch diameter concrete pipe on Hampton Avenue. The drainage system will outfall through the recently completed and upgraded drainage system in Leu Botanical Gardens constructed by the City of Orlando, and ultimately discharges to Lake Rowena. The project construction will extend west to Fern Creek Avenue and will ultimately connect to future projects along Shine Avenue and Marks Street. The project is being partially funded through a Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) sponsored by FEMA.
