40 Years of Engineering with Distinction.

As we continue celebrating 40 years, we’re proud to reflect on the projects that have helped shape campuses, support students, and strengthen communities for generations.

Higher education has long been an important part of our story. Over the decades, Harris Civil Engineers has partnered with colleges and universities on projects that support growth, innovation, and the student experience.

One relationship we are especially proud of is our longstanding partnership with the University of Central Florida, where we have helped support the growth of one of the nation’s largest universities through a variety of campus projects for more than 30 years.

From campus master planning and infrastructure improvements to student housing, utilities, roadways, and stormwater systems, our work helps create environments where students can learn, connect, and thrive.

Behind every campus improvement is a commitment to building spaces that serve not only today’s students, but future generations as well.

Joining over 13,000 participants, our team came together for an unforgettable evening of community, connection, and fun—all while supporting the incredible mission of Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Floridak.

40 Years of Engineering with Distinction.

As we celebrate 40 years, we’re proud to reflect on the projects that have helped bring imagination to life around the world.

Our themed entertainment journey began with our first master agreement with Disney in 1988, a relationship that led to decades of ongoing work. In 1994, we completed our first project with Universal, opening the door to what would become a significant and lasting partnership.

Since then, we’ve had the privilege of working with industry leaders including Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, and LEGOLAND, supporting themed entertainment across Central Florida and across the globe.

Behind every experience is the infrastructure that makes it possible, and we’re proud to play a role in creating places where memories are made.

As we celebrate 40 years, we are reflecting on the projects that have shaped not only our company, but communities around the world. One of the most meaningful parts of our journey has been our work across the islands.

Our first international project dates back to 1993, when we completed a due diligence report for Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Since then, Harris Civil Engineers has built an extensive international portfolio, leaving a lasting impression across the Caribbean and beyond. From hurricane recovery and revitalization efforts to the design of world class resort destinations, our work has helped restore, strengthen, and support island communities for generations to come.

This video highlights just a portion of that story, showcasing some of the island resorts we have helped bring to life and the resilience behind our hurricane recovery efforts. Each location represents more than a project. It represents trust, partnership, and a commitment to helping communities rebuild and thrive. Forty years ago today, Joe Harris built more than a company. He built a foundation rooted in hard work, integrity, compassion, and a deep respect for people.

That foundation still guides us today.

Over the past four decades, we have had the privilege of helping shape communities near and far. From the places where people live, learn, and gather, each project tells a story of collaboration, trust, and purpose.

As an employee-owned company, that purpose is personal. The work we do reflects not only our expertise, but our pride in carrying forward the legacy that started it all.

This anniversary is not just about looking back. In the coming weeks, we will be honoring the people, the partnerships, and the projects that brought us here and the impact they continue to have today.

EXCITING PROJECT NEWS!

Harris Civil Engineers is proud to be part of an exciting oceanfront expansion at the Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino.

The resort’s new tower, The Westerly, is nearing completion and will introduce 161 oceanfront guest rooms and suites, many featuring expansive balconies overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The boutique-style tower will also include unique amenities such as adults-only swim-up rooms and the rooftop venue “Terrace on 10,” offering panoramic views of Palm Beach.

Harris Civil Engineers provided civil engineering services for the world-class, oceanfront development.

Reservations for The Westerly are expected to begin soon as the resort prepares to welcome its first guests.

Community conversations are an important part of how thoughtful development takes shape.

Last week, our team attended a public meeting regarding the proposed rezoning of property along S. Apopka-Vineland Road to allow for the development of a new single-family residential neighborhood. Meetings like these give residents the opportunity to learn more about the project, share their thoughts, and ask questions directly with the project team.

During the meeting, Abdul Alkadry spoke about the project and helped answer questions from community members, providing insight into the planning process and how the development is being designed to fit within the surrounding area.

We value opportunities to listen to the community and address questions as projects evolve. Open dialogue helps ensure that new development contributes positively to the surrounding area and supports the long-term vision of the community.
