Hey everyone.
The bad news: Due to my wife's sudden illness starting in late June 2016, and deterioration of my own health over the previous year 2-3 years. I abruptly gave up my dream (at least for now) ane closed the shop in Orem in mid July. I haven't been active on social media in general since that time. I apologize for the sudden absence. For now, I am not actively pursuing new work related to my business, but have since finished most of the work I had in my shop at the time it was closed, but still have one more small project to finish. Unfortunately, and with regret, one large on-site project did not get finished, partially due to a mistake I made in staffing.
The good news: My wife has been recovering well and has improved very significantly but still has a ways to go to recover fully. The deteriation of my health gained a diagnosis and a treatment in December of 2016. Recovery for takes several months before significant improvements, and a full year to recover completely, assuming no significant permanent damage was done. I am slowly starting to feel better. My free time and available energy continue to increase as my health, and the health of my wife, continue to improve.
I am starting to pick up the pieces, sort through the huge mess created from the hasty shutdown, and I'm organizing for a much smaller operation. Some parts, tools, and other equipment will be sold with proceeds going to reimburse for the unfinished large project and other debts. There is alot to do, but I plan to continue working towards the goal of conducting at least a small amount of work at home and on-site in the not too distant future. Then we'll see how far I can take from there. I'll go nuts if I'm not doing some welding, fabrication, and repair work. It's part of me now, it's what I love doing that is why I'll keep heading that direction.
Stay tuned. I'm getting more active in social media again and I'll post updates and pictures on how things are progressing at an increasing rate as I move forward. Those that know me more personally have given me some work, and I will continue to do what I can for them. I will begin responding to requests for work sent through Facebook about once a week, but may have to pass on many of them. The work I do take on is at reduced rates, especially when turn around time will be slow.
I want to thank family, friends, neighbors, and even customers that helped my family and I during very difficult times. Many were extremely generous with time, money, borrowed equipment, and a whole lot of patience over the last 7 months, and even long before that as my health deteriorated. My family and I are extremely grateful and feel very blessed to have such wonderful people in our life.
