Oil, hydrocarbons, sand, and sediment can create significant challenges for wastewater collection systems. Effective pretreatment helps keep these contaminants out of downstream infrastructure.

The NWPX Park OilTrooper® oil-water separator (also known as a sand-oil separator) is a below-grade wastewater pretreatment system designed to separate and retain these pollutants before discharge into the sewer system.

OilTrooper uses a patented, enhanced separation design featuring a multi-compartment basin where heavier solids settle to the bottom while oil and hydrocarbons rise to the surface. The separated contaminants are retained for removal, allowing pretreated water to discharge safely into the municipal sanitary sewer system.

Last week, we celebrated Concrete Pipe Week by opening the doors at two NWPX Geneva facilities in Utah and welcoming more than 150 guests for plant tours.

For the engineers and public works professionals who design and manage our region’s infrastructure, the tours offered a firsthand look at how the concrete pipe and precast structures they specify are manufactured, along with the processes and quality controls that guarantee their performance.

At our Salt Lake City plant, visitors saw our Exact 2500 automated dry cast system in action producing reinforced concrete pipe. In Orem, guests got a closer look at the production of our corrosion-resistant lined manholes for sanitary sewer applications.
