Terminal 2 for Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina was designed under a philosophy of contextual regionalism. The terminal, invoking the flowing hills and culture of North Carolina's Piedmont region, consisted of 36 gates, three configured for international flights. All gates feature adjustable jet bridges that can accommodate aircraft from regional jets to Boeing 747s. The federal inspection area has 16 stations.
