According to Fortune Business Insights, the global traction battery market, which powers forklifts alongside electric vehicles, rail systems, and automated guided vehicles, is projected to grow from roughly $101 billion in 2026 to more than $525 billion by 2034. Lithium-ion technology already accounts for close to half of that market, driven by faster charging, longer cycle life, and lower maintenance compared to older chemistries.
Warehouse automation and fleet electrification are cited as two of the biggest growth drivers ahead, alongside rising demand for smart battery management systems that give fleet managers real-time visibility into battery health and performance.
