Here's a story from one of &DMachine&Engineering employees on the experience in the Manufacturing industry.

-How did you get started in the manufacturing industry? "I went to trade school to learn computer-aided drafting. At this point in time jobs were difficult to come by in the drafting field. But, I was able to find a job with a machine builder about 9 months after graduation. I had a very good manager who enjoyed teaching me the industry as we worked. He helped me to see my potential in the industry. Over the years I've had many managers who've taught me the industry as well as how to grow in the positions I've been in.
-What advice would you give to someone considering a trade in this industry? "Learn how to work within and how to develop a team."
-What is your favorite part about the work you do? "With the experience I've acquired over the last 30 years, I am able to work in the R&D which allows me to explore many different manufacturing avenues and be creative.

-How did you get started in the manufacturing industry? "After leaving the military, I started college in the automotive field. I was required to take multiple CAD (computer aided drafting) classes. After completing the CAD classes I decided to change majors to engineering.
-What advice would you give to someone considering a trade in this industry? "Start taking CAD and engineering courses as soon as possible. Make a self-evaluation to make sure that you can handle working on a computer hours at a time."
-What is your favorite part about the work you do? "Have a concept in your mind and watch it come to life. From a computer screen and then in real life once it has been built."
