The worst time to figure out who you're going to call is when the emergency is already happening.

A failed motor. A pump goes down. Flooding. A plant outage. Critical equipment suddenly offline.

Those situations are stressful enough without trying to find the right equipment, the right service company and the right contacts at the same time.

That's why Allen's is offering a FREE Emergency Preparedness Review.

Our goal is simple: sit down with your team BEFORE there's an emergency and talk through the equipment and situations that could put your operation at risk.

We'll discuss critical motors and pumps, emergency repair and rental options, field service support, spare or replacement equipment, transportation and logistics, after-hours contacts, and how Allen's Electric Motor Service and Allen's Pump & Rentals can work together when you need support quickly.

If you'd like to schedule a free Emergency Preparedness Review for your facility, reach out to us. or fill out the form below

Don't wait for the emergency to decide who you're calling.

What’s in the Shop Wednesday ⚡
Except this week… it’s not in the shop anymore.

This 3,000 HP, 4,160V synchronous motor is finished, loaded, and back on the road. By the time you’re reading this, there’s a good chance it’s arriving at its destination.
This was a big one.

Our team completed a stator rewind, rotor reconditioning, end-ring connection work, exciter stator and rotor reconditioning, balancing, mechanical work, final assembly and testing before getting it ready to roll.
We spend a lot of time talking about capabilities, but sometimes it’s better to just show you what those capabilities look like.

3,000 HP.
4,160 volts.
400 RPM.

Back together and headed where it belongs.

Your motor has enemies. And most of them don’t announce themselves before they start doing damage.

🔥 **Heat** breaks down insulation and shortens motor life.
💧 **Moisture** reduces insulation resistance and can eventually lead to failure.
〰️ **Vibration** can point to imbalance, looseness, bearing problems or other mechanical issues.
⚡ **Electrical issues** such as voltage imbalance, harmonics and poor power quality put additional stress on the motor.
💧 **Poor lubrication** increases friction, heat and bearing wear.
⚙️ **Misalignment** puts unnecessary stress on the motor, bearings and connected equipment.
🌫️ **Contamination** from dirt, dust, oil and chemicals can damage insulation and accelerate wear.

The important part?

Many motor failures don’t happen overnight. There are often warning signs developing long before the motor finally goes down.

That’s why regular inspections, vibration monitoring, electrical testing, proper lubrication and preventive maintenance matter. Finding a developing problem during planned maintenance is a very different situation than finding it when production suddenly stops.

Pay attention to what your motor is telling you.

At Allen’s Electric Motor Service, we believe reliability starts long before the repair.

Yesterday was a great day to get out of the shop, hit the golf course, and support an even better cause! ⛳💚

Allen’s Electric Motor Service was proud to sponsor and participate in the Vistra Golf Tournament benefiting United Way of Metropolitan Dallas.

For us, being part of events like this is about more than business. It’s about supporting the communities we work in, building relationships, and showing up when there’s an opportunity to give back.

A big thank you to Vistra, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, and everyone who helped put together such a great event. We enjoyed the day, the conversations, and maybe even a little friendly competition on the course. 😉

We’re proud to have Allen’s represented and even prouder to support a great cause!

Celebrating 12 Years with Amber Whitehead! 💚

Yesterday, September 2, marked a special milestone at Allen’s Electric Motor Service. Amber Whitehead celebrated 12 years with our team!

Amber’s story at Allen’s is one we’re incredibly proud of. She started as a receptionist, and it didn’t take long for her hard work, dedication, and willingness to grow to stand out.

Over the years, she continued taking on more responsibility and working her way up. Today, she serves as an Accounts Receivable Specialist and is a truly valued member of our team.

Twelve years with one company says a lot. It speaks to loyalty, commitment, growth, and choosing to build a career alongside the people around you.

Amber is also one of many long term employees at Allen’s who have chosen to grow their careers here, and that is something we are incredibly thankful for. Their experience, knowledge, and dedication are a huge part of who Allen’s is today.

We sat down with Amber to hear a little more about her journey, what has kept her at Allen’s for 12 years, and how her role has grown along the way.

🎥 Take a minute to watch our interview with Amber and help us congratulate her on 12 years with Allen’s!

Thank you, Amber, for 12 years of hard work, loyalty, and dedication. We’re incredibly thankful to have you on our team. 💚

Maintenance guys, this one is for you.

You’re standing in a plant looking at a large motor that should be running…but isn’t.

Production is waiting. Everyone wants to know how long you’ll be down, and the question has already been asked:

“Do we repair it or replace it?”

Meanwhile, you’re thinking, Can we figure out what actually happened first? 😂

Because anyone who has been in that position knows there’s a lot more running through your head than the price of a repair versus the price of a new motor.

How long will either option take? What’s the replacement lead time? What did the vibration history look like? Is this the first failure? Is something else in the system contributing to the problem? And how much is every hour of downtime really costing?

There are really three costs in that decision: the cost to repair it, the cost to replace it, and sometimes the biggest one of all…the cost of getting it wrong.

We took a deeper look at this situation from the maintenance manager’s perspective this week, but we’d really like to hear from the people who actually live it.

When a critical motor goes down, what’s the FIRST thing running through your head?

What’s in the Shop Wednesday 👀

This one was pretty hard to walk past without stopping for a picture.

5,000 HP.
4,000 volts.
1,776 RPM.

This massive GE AC motor is currently in our shop, and our team is at one of the most satisfying stages of the job: reassembly.

After inspection and reconditioning, the pieces are starting to come back together. The stator has been reconditioned, the rotor reconditioned and balanced, and the sleeve bearings addressed as part of the repair process.

And when you're talking about a 5,000 HP motor, “putting it back together” is a little more impressive than it sounds.

That's why we do What’s in the Shop Wednesday.

Not everything needs a sales pitch. Sometimes we just want to open the shop doors and show you the seriously cool equipment our guys get to work on every day.

Big motor. Big components. A whole lot of iron. And piece by piece, it's becoming a motor again. 🔧

🔧 CAPTION THIS.

We could give you the technical explanation of what’s happening here…

But where’s the fun in that? 😂

We want to hear yours.

Give this photo your best caption. 👇

Funny, technical, completely ridiculous, all answers are welcome.

Bonus points if someone from the motor world makes the rest of us laugh. 😂

Alright, LinkedIn… caption this.

👀 Well… look what just rolled into the shop.

And when we say BIG, we mean BIG. ⚡

This is the kind of equipment that makes you stop for a second when it comes through the doors at Allen’s Electric Motor Service.

Next stop: our team gets to work figuring out exactly what it needs and getting it back where it belongs, running.

Big motors. Tough repairs. A team that knows what they’re looking at.

Just another day at Allen’s. 🔧⚡
