Inspired by Utah's mountain landscape, Utah State University's Caine School of the Arts Performance Hall pairs a refined zinc façade with a performance space designed for exceptional acoustics. Thick concrete walls, layered finishes, and adjustable acoustic elements allow the hall to adapt to everything from solo performances to full ensembles.

Working with Sasaki, Reaveley Engineers helped create a space where architecture, structure, and acoustics work together to support both artistic expression and the student experience for years to come.

Since 1993, Gallivan Plaza has been a gathering place for concerts, celebrations, and everyday moments in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. Built between two towers and above a three-level underground parking structure, it transformed a complex urban site into a public space designed for year-round use.

Reaveley Engineers partnered with EDA to help bring that vision to life and later support its evolution through an expanded concert venue, a larger ice rink, a new event space, and architectural features that continue to make Gallivan Plaza an iconic destination for the community.

Projects like this show how thoughtful collaboration can create places that remain vibrant, adaptable, and meaningful for decades.

𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀: 𝗦𝗺𝘂𝗿𝗳 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗳.

For a lot of Idahoans, that's more than a football field. It's game days, time with family and friends, and traditions passed down across generations.

It raises a good question: why do certain places become part of a community's identity?

As engineers, we spend a lot of time thinking about how places serve people over time. The ones that stick with us aren't defined by the structure alone. They're shaped by what happens there.

Albertsons Stadium is one of those places. Every fall, students return to campus, alumni reconnect with old memories, and thousands gather around a tradition that's become uniquely Idaho.

Reaveley had the chance to contribute to the stadium's expansion. Looking back, what stands out isn't the project itself. It's the role the stadium still plays as a place where people come together.

The stiffness method treats joint displacements as unknowns, solving equilibrium equations to find them and then using those results to determine member forces and reactions. Unlike the flexibility method, it works equally well for determinate or indeterminate structures and automatically flags instability if a solution can't be found.

Originally a sports arena, the Salt Palace has evolved into a top-tier convention center, hosting major events such as the Winter Olympics and FanX.

The 1994 renovation added 616,000 square feet of space and featured a remarkable 180-foot column-free design. Expansions in 2001 and 2006 added another 433,000 square feet and multi-level parking garages.

Reaveley has been instrumental in its structural development for nearly forty years through all significant phases.

𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀.

Edison House transforms a once-abandoned urban site into a three-story social venue designed to bring new energy to the community. Working with HKS Architects, Reaveley Engineers helped support a dynamic western façade with adjustable perforated metal screens, bi-folding panels, and lift-and-slide doors that respond to light, airflow, and weather while preserving the project's architectural vision.

In collaboration with Okland Construction, the façade was carefully coordinated and constructed to deliver long-term performance while creating a welcoming, adaptable experience for members and guests.

Our annual Meat N' Greet with the AEC community became a Jurassic Feast 65 million years in the making, complete with an asset on the loose.

All jokes aside, this event has always been about saying thank you to our clients and the work we get to do together for the communities we serve.

The Intermountain Health St George Regional Hospital Cancer Center & Campus Consolidation merges two campuses and expands the River Road facility. The three-story center combines cancer services and adds newborn, trauma, neurosurgery, cardiovascular, and women's care. With more beds, a new observation unit, and advanced imaging, the expanded facility offers family-focused care, keeping loved ones close.
