We also specialize in Steam traction engine restoration and repair. We perform task such as repairing machining, And our shop holds a

current "R" stamp repair certification for welding and repairing Steam engine boilers under the NBIC code.

Today this 18hp Greyhound leaves the shop to go back to the customer for them to finish the restoration.

People ask all the time about the timeline of these projects, so here is a snap shot

March 2025 received the engine .

June 2025 steel was ordered for the boiler .

September 2025 steel was received and construction started.

October 2025 boiler was halfway done

December 2025 boiler was complete

May or 2026 engine was all remounted on new boiler and ready to go home

Today 6/3/2026 the engine leaves CES to head back to the customer

Complete 16hp Advance Rumely Universal Boiler inspection completed yesterday

We started construction on this boiler on December 8th 2025. We finished work on the boiler on March 11th 2026. Then had inspection yesterday.

We will continue now with restoring the engine in its work clothes and bringing it up to better than new mechanical condition.
