WHAT THE ACTUAL F**K, AMERICA?
Last night, the President of the United States stood at a rally in Nebraska and said:
“They can take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego.”
And then he called it “a very small price to pay.”
Read that again.
The PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES suggested that a foreign adversary could “take out” two American cities.
And people in that crowd APPLAUDED.
Yes, you can see shocked faces behind him. But you can also see people clapping.
This is where we are.
Remember all those horrific images of cities destroyed by war that we have watched on our phones? Remember the millions of people around the world protesting the killing of civilians?
This is why it matters.
Because the minute we decide that innocent human beings somewhere else are an acceptable “price to pay,” we have crossed a line. And eventually someone decides your family, your city, your children are an acceptable price too.
Los Angeles. San Diego.
Millions of Americans.
They are not collateral damage. They are not expendable. And they sure as f**k aren’t a “small price to pay.”
I don’t care whether someone tries to explain this away as a joke, hyperbole or Trump being Trump.
A President does not joke about a foreign adversary taking out American cities.
America, WAKE THE F**K UP.
November is coming. Use your voice. Use your vote. Use your power.
Because there are moments when history asks ordinary people what they were willing to tolerate.
What the actual f**k have we become?
