Clam dig info!!

Here’s some exciting new you can dig into! WDFW shellfish managers today announced the first round of digs at Mocrocks on Oct. 26 and Oct. 29 only, and at Copalis on Oct. 27-28 only, during late afternoon/evening (noon to midnight only) low tides.

“With the ongoing closure at Long Beach and Twin Harbors (due to elevated marine toxin levels), we have structured the upcoming opening at Copalis and Mocrocks to maximize a quality digging series while protecting coastal clam populations and preserving opportunity throughout the fall season,” said Bryce Blumenthal, a WDFW coastal shellfish biologist. “By shifting to a four-day digging window we can align digging time with the lowest tides of the tidal cycle. While managing one open beach at a time requires us to be more strategic, this approach gives diggers the best chance at successful harvest during the best tides of the week.”

WDFW’s summer 2026 stock assessment found fewer razor clams on Copalis and Mocrocks than in recent years. Even though marine toxin levels and ocean conditions will allow for digging at Copalis and Mocrocks, the situation can change rapidly and ongoing water sampling for marine toxins could cancel announced digs at any moment. Before heading to a beach, diggers should refer to the WDFW emergency rules webpage. Hurray for GHAvert! Your generous donations added up to $2961 that they can use to be more and more prepared to help YOU! (And what better time to award the monies than at Ace's Ladies' Night? We had fun posing for this presentation selfie! 🤣)

These amazing people with Grays Harbor AVERT — the volunteer emergency response team that helps our community get ready before disaster strikes - work year round to be ready for anything, and you'll be glad that they did someday.

They also develop hands‑on programs, including:
• Disaster planning workshops
• Go‑bag education (for you and your pets!)
• Community CERT‑trained volunteers who partner with local fire & police departments
• Preparedness outreach across Ocean Shores and Grays Harbor County

These volunteers are the folks teaching our neighbors how to build emergency kits, plan ahead, and stay safe when the unexpected happens!

🪣 Small change. Big preparedness.

Thank you to everyone who contributed, and to GH Avert volunteers!

It's Friendly Face Friday, and we get to love on our team a little bit! These NOBLE folks work 363 days a year to provide the highest level of service to our community - and they don't just work here - they CARE here. These are the faces that help you find the right part, solve the tricky project, share real know‑how, and make you feel welcome the moment you walk in. They bring combined experience of 159 years in this building, but even the newer faces are here for YOU!

After a highly successful Ladies' Night this week, (and armed with a fun group photo!) we are especially grateful for the team that we have working at Buck Electric Ace Hardware.

Just to name a few of the talents that we have in this group:

Our event team plans the event in minute detail, creating checklists and instructions for each aspect of the event. Members of this team have experience in events and entertainment, and bring that expertise to our party.

Our incredibly skilled Grillmasters are also well versed in food preparation and banquet service, having worked in other industries. What other retail store can boast that they can feed 350 people in the parking lot? 😁 (and it's DELICIOUS)

We have talented artists who create things like the balloon arch, the stone pillar that was used in our photo booth, and all of the games that are played at the party.

Our Dragon guest pulled out all of the stops and entertained the entire evening, even when his batteries ran low!

There are a million other little things that wouldn't happen without the skills and talents of each member of our group, and we could not be prouder to be serving with them. So if you see one of these beautiful faces at the store, be sure to give them a high five!
