Did you know?: On an average, during rain storms, Public Works gets 50 phone calls a day in regards to drainage ditches. Although we would like to service everyone the same day, it is not possible for us to get to every house, especially 8,000+ houses! That is a job of a ditch! Although it is frightening to see the water rise rapidly in your ditch during heavy rain, most ditches will dry within 24 hours after a rain. If you have water in your ditch after the 24-hour period, then you might have a more serious problem – that is the best time to call Public Works. is not responsible for the provision of water and sanitary sewer services.
