Mama C (73' Duffie) Progress Update:
The beginning phases of production always start in the skillful hands of our incredible hull carpentry team. The hull crew began with the entire build out of the cabin and fly bridge. Once complete and passed on to our fairing and paint prep team, they then began the next phase of the build by laying out the hull footprint and assembling the 73 foot hull jig. With the hull jig successfully constructed, the hull stem and stringers were then laminated and installed into place, followed by planking on all sides of the hull. This phase of the build was then concluded with the installation of the commemorative whiskey plank.

It was an exciting morning here at Duffie Boatworks!

The American Beauty (67' Duffie) came out of the boat shop and is heading to Sunset Marina for finalizations by our team.

The hard top and outrigger systems will now be installed, final installations and touch ups will be made to the interior, and all remaining running gear will be installed on the boat. Once sea trials are performed and the boat is perfected to our standards, it will then head south and beyond for an extensive travel schedule with its owner for the winter months.

We, as well as the incredible owner, are extremely proud of this build and can't wait to see how she performs.

As always, we can't thank the guys over at HaulMyBoat.com enough for all their expertise on a seamless transport to the marina.

Happy Independence Day!!

We wish you all a safe and joyful celebration of America with friends and family.

I have never posted myself on here, so bear with me. I haven’t had the opportunity to fish this tournament in the past and hope to never miss a chance to fish it again in the years to come. This would be the first time a Duffie Boatworks build would be invited to fish the custom shootout, so I leapt at the chance to go and was even more excited to be able to fish the week with my wife Kourtney, who has been my biggest supporter since I said “I’m gonna build a boat in the garage”.

It was a truly amazing experience, from the beauty of the Abacos to the hospitality and friendship of John G and Stephanie and the guys in the crew, and the fantastic fishing we got to experience together. We also snuck in a win with a second place double daily on the last day with 2 blues, a white and 2 sails! Anytime you catch a slam, you know the fishings firing off. I even got to catch a couple fish, so it was a fantastic day.

It was an honor to get to share the stage with the boatbuilders who I count as friends and mentors. It’s a privilege to be counted among them. Being able to listen and learn from them and walk the docks and see their passion reflected in the beauty of what they have created makes me realize that while we are trying hard to build incredible boats, we still have a lot to learn and need to work harder at it and I better get back to it.

We are very proud and delighted to have 2 of our completed builds competing in this year's Los Suenos Triple Crown. Leg 1 kicks off today for team Billfisher (Duffie 64') and team Reel Joy (Duffie 79').

We wish both crews and anglers the best of luck, as well as the other teams and participants competing this week!
