One of our longtime customers, Paul was a good guy

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Paul Furia, our former School Crossing Guard Supervisor, who dedicated 14 years of service to our community. Paul passed away on October 10, 2025, at the age of 79. He joined the Ocala Police Department in 2011 after a 40-year career in the finance industry. His leadership and commitment to ensuring the safety of children walking to and from school made a lasting impact on our city.

Police Chief Mike Balken shared, "Paul’s dedication to protecting our community and children was remarkable. He was truly an inspiration and a wonderful example of selfless service. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones. Rest in peace, Paul—you will be missed but never forgotten."

We are profoundly grateful for Paul’s service to the City of Ocala. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace. 💙
