Condor Speed Shop

Condor Speed Shop We live, eat and breathe the automotive lifestyle. We are racers at heart with a passion for design, fabrication, and old school BMWs.

The roots of Team Condor started back in 2007, as a two man team, who built a fire-spitting, wide-body, turbo-powered BMW 1988 325is for the Grassroots Motorsports Challenge. Two guys with a passion for E30's. After designing a simple solution to delete the power steering on their E30 challenge car. We began selling the deletes on the forums, as well as designing E30 T-shirts & calendars. Eventual

ly, the proceeds helped fund a trip to the 2011 Ultimate Track Car Challenge at Virginia International Raceway. There continued to be a need for more parts, and we continued to satisfy that need with quality parts at affordable prices. Now Condor Speed Shop offers a full line of engine, drive-train and suspension components for E10, E30, Z3, Z4, E36, E46 & E87 chassis. We test all our parts on the tracks and the streets of south Florida before refining them enough to pass them on to you. All parts are made in the USA.

We’re BMW guys. We race them, build parts for them, break them, fix them, and spend way too much time talking about them. So every once in a while, it’s worth looking back at some of the crazier things BMW has built.

Like an 810 horsepower, 3.0-liter V10. The BMW P80 helped Williams finish third in the Constructors’ Championship in 2000—the first season of a partnership that would last through 2005.

When Formula 1 moved to 2.4-liter V8s for 2006, BMW developed the P86. Around 760 horsepower, spinning past 19,000 rpm. By then BMW had moved on from Williams and into the BMW Sauber era.

And then came Montreal, 2008. Robert Kubica took the win with Nick Heidfeld right behind him—a BMW 1–2 and BMW Sauber’s first and only Formula 1 victory. BMW left Formula 1 after 2009, bringing a pretty incredible era to an end.

Was the P86 the last great BMW race engine?

A blast from the past: the BASF-liveried BMW M1, wrapped in the iconic red-and-white concentric circles pulled straight from the cassette brand's old logo. One of the most unmistakable liveries of the era, and a perfect slice of 1981. Which BMW M1 would you park in your garage? Drop your choice in the comments section below.

Have you heard of Gateway Motorsports Park?
Gateway combines an infield road course with an oval, packing 1.6 miles of racing just across the river from St. Louis, MO. Spec E30 racer Brian Edmonds set the SE30 track record there in 2017 and put together a turn-by-turn track guide, including where the best passing opportunities are.

Pay close attention to his notes on Turn 8. Getting back to throttle early there carries speed all the way onto the oval. Through Turns 9 and 10, the advice is simple: holler like a NASCAR driver and let the car drift out toward the wall on exit. Three-wide is possible down the oval, but you'd better have it sorted before Turn 1.

Is Gateway on your racing calendar? Let us know. Check out the full track guide on our site.

New Project Update: We picked this e90 up as a bare shell after a hard front end hit twisted both frame rails and bent the subframe.
After many hours on the frame machine, the shell was straight again. The new subframe bolted in, and the bumper, fenders, and headlights all lined up to confirm everything was back where it should be.
Next up, it gets a new life as an endurance car for WRL GP2 and ChampCar EC. It’ll run an N52, with an automatic, and Öhlins coilovers. Read the full build on our blog.

Let's dig into the history books for this post:
The Year was 1939, The BMW 328 Kamm Coupé was built with one goal, to be as aerodynamic as possible. Created for the 1940 Mille Miglia, its streamlined aluminum body covered a lightweight Elektron space frame. Weighing roughly only 1675 lbs, with 136 hp and a top speed near 142 mph, it showed how advanced BMW’s aerodynamic work had become before the war.

Nine years ago reached out asking us to design a set of polycarbonate windows for his e90. He was one of the very first grassroots racers campaigning the e9x platform. Since then he has been putting his Condor equipped E90 through its paces in stage rally. It's been a few years since his last event. Time to bring it back, George.

The best part of any engine swap is the day the wiring is done and the car fires up on the first try.

Our popular engine swap wiring harness adapters get you there faster. Made to order for your BMW, they plug into the new engine harness and existing chassis harness, and the instructions walk you through any additional wiring connections so you're not chasing pinouts at midnight. Those who know, know.

Let's open the history books again. Alexander Calder painted this 1974 BMW 3.0 CSL in 1975, and it raced at Le Mans that same year. French racer and auctioneer Hervé Poulain commissioned it and put it on the grid himself. The first BMW Art Car ever made.
