Summer W**d Control FAQs:
Can I use w**d and feed in the summer?
W**d and feed isn’t recommended during summer, especially when temperatures exceed 85°F, as it can stress or damage your lawn. Safer options include hand-pulling or spot-treating now, and using pre-emergents in early spring or fall.

When is it too late to spray for w**ds?
Once daytime temperatures consistently exceed 85 degrees Fahrenheit, it’s too late to apply most herbicides without risking lawn damage.

What’s the best time to apply w**d killer?
Early spring and fall are ideal times for applying pre- and post-emergent herbicides when temperatures are milder and w**ds are most vulnerable.

How do I kill w**ds in the summer without killing my grass?
Spot-treat isolated w**ds with selective herbicides or remove them by hand to avoid damaging surrounding grass in the heat.

Is it safe to use herbicides in hot weather?
Most herbicides shouldn’t be applied when temperatures are above 85 degrees Fahrenheit due to the risk of lawn burn.

What a week it's been! We are half-way through the week and looking forward to a great weekend!

There are lots of projects going on around the area, so be on the lookout for tree, road, and landscaping crews. They are busy preparing for the season and there are slow-downs on the 41...look for the orange warning signs and pack your patience!

If you are doing tree work, here are some good tips:

--Perform a hazard assessment before any tree work.
--Always assume that power lines are energized.
--Use necessary PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, hearing and fall protection/harness.
--Ground personnel should stay clear of the fall radius of branches.
--Be aware of felling direction.
--Notch the tree properly on the fall side before cutting the back to release the pressure.
--Never climb with anything (e.g. tools, equipment) in your hands.
--Any tree trimming within ten feet of a power line must be done by trained line-clearance tree trimmers. A second tree trimmer must be within voice range any time a person is cutting above.

Enjoy your midweek day!

Tacos are on our minds today on this sunny election day Tuesday! What a great day to pick up some tacos and drop off your ballots! If that is not your jam today, then it's a great day to just get out and enjoy the sunny weather before it gets toooooo hot to handle!

Our 2-stroke team is working about a week out and give us a call before you bring in a rider or tractor. We are still about 2-3 weeks out....we have been stuck in a shipping jam and ordered parts for repairs are just not coming in that quickly right now. Patience is a virtue, and we are trying to be full of virtue right now.

There are scheduled controlled burns and road work happening on 41 right now so it's a good reminder to plan accordingly and keep your clearing on point:

Why It’s Important

Reduces ignition risk: Clearing combustible materials lowers the chance of a fire starting or spreading.

Protects structures: Creates a buffer zone that can slow or stop fire progression.

Improves safety: Reduces the risk to occupants and emergency responders.

Preserves property value: Well-maintained, fire-safe landscapes can enhance curb appeal and long-term value.

Reduces maintenance needs: Fire-resistant landscaping and defensible spaces often require less upkeep over time.

Here's to a great day and rest of the week!

And so it begins...hot weather is on deck and summer is knocking on the door. Are you ready??? W**ds keep w**ding, grass starting to turn, and those clearances need to be cleared. Just know, we've got what you need to help with those chores to keep the wildfires at bay. We know the season is going to be dry with our lack of rain and snow, so it's good to be extra vigilant around structures and property.

We are current on the tech side with trimmers, saws, and 2-stroke. Our 4-stroke is getting caught up, so feel free to check in early next week to see where we are and when it's a good time to drop off your riding mowers/tractors, generators and such.

We are here Mon-Fri 8a-5p, Saturday 8a-1p. (559)683-7621, just give us a call if you've got questions or want to check in!

Finally Friday and we are looking forward to a warmer weekend ahead. That can only mean one thing...time to check out the clearing situations at hand, since Mother Nature has been so kind to provide magical growth serum to those pesky w**ds! If you need some trimmer line, air filters, spark plugs or even a primer bulb to get your w**deater up and running, stop on in...we've got what you need.

The technicians are still hard at work getting those riding mowers serviced and repaired. We are still looking at the week of June 8th to be able to take on more repairs on riders/4-stroke. Our 2-stroke is looking great and we are out about a week. We are still seeing some shipping issues, but slowly showing improvement.

Here's to a fantastic and hopefully warmer weekend and some fun in the sun!

We hope this week is treating you well, and you spent the long weekend remembering those that served and continue to serve our country and cherishing special time with your family and friends. Memorial Day is to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We truly thank you and your family!

Wild Weather Wednesday...the whiplash continues with these cooler temps and threat of rain. So, if you've packed up those hoodies, you might want to find one for the next few days.

Our shop is super busy with service and repairs right now. The
4-stroke, riding mower situation is booked until at least the week of June 8th, so we are not able to bring any riders in until after then.
**Please give us a call at 559-683-7621, before coming in with a rider/4-stroke as we want to ensure we have the room for the equipment, and it doesn't sit for weeks before we have a chance to look at it.** We do this process so that our tech team doesn't get overloaded with equipment waiting...On the bright side of things, the service/repairs on 2-stroke, saws, trimmers, and blowers is currently running about 1-2 weeks out. Just to let you know that we are struggling with shipments of parts coming in at this time, so that is also causing some delays in finishing up repairs.

If you are in the market for some new equipment, please come on in and check out our great selection of commercial battery and gas-powered equipment. Also, to keep those lawns beautifully manicured, ask Tim about the latest and greatest development in the Husqvarna automower line.

We've been crazy busy around the shop...our posts have been on and off...however, it is Taco Tuesday....so eat those tacos today!

We are jammed up with repairs on riding mowers, tractors and 4-stroke, so we will not be taking any of that equipment in for at least 2-3 weeks. You can still drop off any saws, trimmers, blowers though...we are running about a week to week and a half turn around (with the exception of parts that may be on back order, or part of a shipping disaster).

This upcoming weekend we will be observing Memorial Day, and the shop will be closed this Saturday through Monday..5/23-5/25/26

Good Taco Tuesday morning. Hopefully your tacos will be as spicy as the weather today! It's been a few days since our last post, as things are crazy busy around here prepping for the season. We have our techs on point doing their best to get those repairs and service items handled as quickly as possible! Our 4-stroke or tractor work is still about 2-3 weeks out right now, and we are limiting the amount of items we take in due to the space here at the shop. Your best bet is to give us a quick call at 559-683-7621 to see if it's a good time to bring in your rider!

Here are some good tips to clearing for your defensible space:
--Spacing: Keep shrubs and other vegetation at least 15 feet apart to reduce fuel loading
-- Combustible storage: Keep firewood, charcoal, and flammable items away from structures; store gasoline in approved cans away from buildings
--Fuel reduction: Remove or thin dense vegetation, dead leaves, pine needles, and low-hanging branches within 10–15 feet of the structure
--Fire mitigation services: Professional clearing, brush removal, and installation of fire-resistant barriers or coatings can enhance safety and curb appeal

A reason to celebrate Taco Tuesday, and on this 5th of May...double up, go for that 2 dozen today! We are doubling up here at the shop too...more repair and service items just keep doubling up with all of these rainy days we've had. We are working hard to get our service items handled pretty quickly...the riders and 4-stroke continue to be backed up by a couple of weeks now. If you have been waiting to bring them in, just call the store and we can let you know when we will be able to take on more of the riders for repair.

W**ds will be headed your way. The rain washed away the dry to make room for the new stuff. Mother Nature has some 90's (not the cool grunge kind) on the way so be prepared for the dry to come back. We've got lots of trimmers, line, blowers and all of the things necessary to keep those pesky w**ds at bay, if at least for a short time.
