In this position you will coordinate and implement continuous improvement and lean manufacturing philosophies in the organization. This position will study manufacturing processes and implement improvements through design of new or improved manufacturing tooling and process changes. The position requires the individual to create or make changes to manufacturing process routings as required for all products. The position will be responsible for defining manufacturing operations sequence, recommending improved manufacturing methods investigating and resolving root cause for low profit work orders as well as scrap and rework. The position will be responsible for both new applications and repairs while maintaining an efficient workflow for all product lines.
Essential Job Functions:
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
Ability to Set Up and Operate all machinery with focus on lathes.
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Monitor and address production related issues on assigned production lines.
Monitor Performance related measureables i.e. tooling cost, scrap cost, and productivity. Identify and implement cost and safety improvements.
Conduct work activities in a safe manner.
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Design and setup of efficient manufacturing processes.
Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager discussing all matters of importance.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or combination of education and experience
3 years’ experience in a medium to high-volume manufacturing environment. Automotive, agricultural or industrial preferred.
Strong back ground in lathe set-up and programming highly desired
Gibbs CAM or a related programming software preferred
Solidworks CAD software desired
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must have computer skills in Microsoft, Word, Excel, Outlook
Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
Strong continuous improvement mentality possessing agility toward change
