We had the opportunity to host the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) for their Recycling Committee meeting, which included a tour of our headquarters and Material Test Center.

The day was filled with thoughtful discussions about the issues, opportunities, and innovations shaping our industry. We truly appreciate everything NWRA does to support and advance the waste and recycling industry.

The group also visited the award-winning All American MRF at USA Waste and Recycling, where they saw firsthand how artificial intelligence provides real-time insights and helps optimize the sorting process.

VAN DYK Recycling Solutions designed and supplied the state-of-the-art recycling system for the WM facility, including the sorting technology installed throughout the site.

Together with WM's Greater Napanee facility, the two purpose-built operations are expected to process approximately 30% of Ontario's packaging and paper recyclables, supporting the province's standardized Blue Box recycling system.

The Cambridge facility integrates advanced mechanical separation, optical sorting, automation, and artificial intelligence to process a broader range of materials while improving sorting efficiency, consistency, and recovery.

This project represents a major investment in the future of Ontario's recycling infrastructure, and we are proud to have helped bring the facility from design to operation.

In total, expanded infrastructure will support the full EPR system for packaging and paper products by recycling 30% of the province’s Blue Box materials.

After eight months with VAN DYK Recycling Solutions, Rowan Hartley is wrapping up their co-op and heading back to Northeastern University this fall.

Rowan made a great impact during their time with us, supporting our Test Center, customer testing, engineering projects, and internal improvements with enthusiasm and professionalism.

Another recycling center has invested in long-term performance by installing a 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗮𝗳 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿.

This new 𝗛𝗕𝗖𝟭𝟮𝟬𝗦 adds reliable, high-performance baling capacity to a major recycling operation - built to handle the demands of day-to-day material processing. Great work by everyone involved in getting this machine installed and operational.

After 16 years with VAN DYK Recycling Solutions, Judd Mulkerin is officially retiring.

Judd has played an important role in shaping and growing our Design Team. His experience, work ethic, and deep technical knowledge have influenced countless system designs and helped train and mentor many of the people who continue that work today.

To his teammates, Judd has been much more than a talented designer. He has been a teacher, mentor, trusted colleague, early-morning office companion, motorcycle travel partner, musician, and a true “company man” who always spoke about VAN DYK with genuine pride.

His knowledge and contributions will be difficult to replace, but the impact he has made on our team will remain for years to come.

Congratulations on a well-deserved retirement, Judd. We wish you plenty of music, motorcycle trips, and new adventures ahead. You will be greatly missed!

Our partners at Bollegraaf and Lubo Recycling Solutions recently completed a high-performance single-stream sorting line for Excoffier Recyclage in Chêne-en-Semine, France.

The facility processes single stream packaging material from approximately 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, equating to nearly 𝟰𝟲,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆.

Designed for flexibility, the system handles a wide range of packaging materials, including paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, cartons, and cans, while also integrating hard-plastics sorting capability.
